LIVERPOOL DIARY
Volunteers wanted

THE historic Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation cemetery in Deane Road, Kensington, has undergone a remarkable restoration thanks to Heritage Lottery funding.

It will shortly be handed over for groups of visitors to be guided around and be made aware of the fascinating life stories of notable Jewish Victorians buried there and their important contributions to the well-being of Liverpool and the wider society.

Would-be-volunteers interested in supporting and maintaining the cemetery or being trained as guides are invited to meet the committee on Sunday, June 10 (noon-4pm).

* Details: Arnold Lewis on 0151-722 5021.
